VEBE Cycling Clothing
Cycling is quite an expensive hobby, but also, as the saying goes, you get what you pay for. I like nice things and nice cycling gear, so it is tough to juggle a limited cycling budget and having nice things. So, finding a full retail cycling kit set for less than $50 USD seems kind of crazy. I have tested out the VEBE kit on my trainer, so read on to find out more.

VEBE
VEBE Sport Store is Amazon retailer that sells cycling clothing. And like most products from Amazon, the lead times on getting the clothing is fast. So, if you are in a time crutch, this kit could be for you. VEBE has both men’s and women’s jerseys, shorts, and gloves. Head on over to their store and check them out.

Sizing
Their sizing is very similar to Castelli cycling clothing sizing. I typically wear XL in Castelli and other European Jersey manufactures and for the VEBE Jersey and shorts got XL too. As you can see in the image below provided by VEBE, they state that the jerseys run small.
Jersey
The VEBE jersey is made from 100% Polyester. It is recommended to drip dry and not to bleach or iron. The jersey is made like a mesh and should be very cool and comfortable during the summer months. The sleeve arm bands are made from a stretchy material and has a rubber coating on the inside to prevent it from sliding.
The jersey zipper is of good quality and functions nicely. I do not see any foreseeable issue with it. On the rear of the jersey, there are three deep pockets to carry all your goodies while riding. There is also a “hidden” pocket with a zipper to store valuable items like keys. There is also a reflective material under the pockets to help you be seen at night better.
Overall, there jersey fits nicely. The XL size is a bit looser than a race cut jersey, but this kit will be for training purposes, so no need for tighter jersey. The jersey is made nicely and has good quality stitching. I find it hard to believe that it is available for less than $25 USD (there is a 40% off coupon available).
Shorts
Shorts and bib shorts are always a lot trickier than jerseys, especially when it comes to the chamois. The VEBE shorts are made nicely and again have good quality stitching. They are made from 80% Nylon and 20% Spandex. The thigh bands are made similarly to that of the arm bands. The bands are not too tight and stay nicely in place while riding.
Personally, I prefer bib shorts over shorts, but currently only shorts are available from VEBE. My recommendation to VEBE would be to add bib shorts ASAP. The shorts have a high waist band so they will cover nicely, but I was having issues with the waist band rolling down when bending forward to grab onto the bars. They still felt comfortable and after a bit of time it was not too noticeable.
One of the most important parts of cycling clothing are the chamois. These chamois are double thickened gel padding that specifically designed for men (the women’s shorts are specifically designed for women). It is made from breathable fabric, so they do not accumulate sweat.
Overall, the shorts are nicely made and quite comfortable. Again, these shorts are less than $25 USD (but there is a 50% off coupon available) and for the cost they are quite good. I think the chamois might be a little too thick, but so far, for short rides (under an hour on the trainer/turbo) they provide plenty of comfort and do not bunch up. For trainer rides, these make a great addition and keep you from wearing out your more expensive cycling clothing that you will use outdoors for longer rides.
Closing Thoughts
For less than $50 USD retail without coupons applied, this cycling clothing kit is a good price, but with 40% and 50% coupons applied it is an amazing price. Personally, I think the design of the kit is decent, but more importantly, they are well made and fit well. For shorter trainer rides, these will be one of my go-to kits.
The jersey will make a great summer jersey. With its deep pockets, it can hold a lot of snacks, phone, and so much more. I am perplexed with the affordability of these products, being that they are well made, and they seem to be of good quality materials. In this price range, there is not much out there that can compete. And I think these are definitely worth a go.
